Job Description

About HupoWe are an AI-native start-up building sales enablement products in the banking, financial services, and insurance industry; already trusted by dozens of enterprise customers (including Fortune 500 companies).

Role at a GlanceTitle: Product Designer
Team: Product
Employment Type: Full-time
Location: Remote (UTC+5–UTC+11 / Asia time zone preferred)

Why This Role MattersAs we continue expanding our AI product surface, we're looking for a Product Designer to help shape how people interact with AI at work. This isn't about adding AI to existing interfaces — you'll be designing genuinely new interaction patterns around prompting, agentic workflows, streaming outputs, uncertainty, and human-in-the-loop moments.

You'll have end-to-end ownership across core product areas, working closely with Product and Engineering from the earliest stages of a problem through to shipped product. You'll help us understand what users actually need, turn ambiguous ideas into tangible experiences, and build the design systems and patterns that allow our product to scale.

What You'll DoOwn design end-to-end for core product areas, from problem framing and research through exploration, prototyping, and polished shipped experiences

Design genuinely novel AI interactions, including prompting, agentic workflows, streaming outputs, uncertainty, and human-in-the-loop experiences

Drive research within your product area by speaking directly with end users and using product data to understand behaviour, identify problems, and advocate for users

Partner closely with Product and Engineering from day one, helping shape what gets built rather than simply designing how it looks

Prototype quickly to make ambiguous ideas tangible, test different directions, and de-risk decisions before committing significant build time

Contribute to and help scale our agentic design system as the product surface grows, creating reusable patterns and components that raise the bar across the product

What Success Looks LikeWithin your first few months, you'll:

Build a deep understanding of our users, their workflows, and the problems we're solving for them

Take ownership of core product areas and establish a strong design direction across them

Ship thoughtful, high-quality product experiences while helping the team move quickly from ambiguity to execution

Establish and contribute reusable patterns for designing AI and agentic interactions

You’ll also be expected to continuously:

Use AI throughout your own design process — from research and ideation to prototyping and engineering handoff

Measure yourself by outcomes and user impact, not just design deliverables

Raise the quality and consistency of our product as the design surface expands

Adapt and expand impact as priorities shift

Take ownership of new problems as they emerge

What We're Looking ForMust-HavesAI-native across the full process. You use AI to elevate your work, not just speed it up. You explore more directions in research and ideation, prototype faster than you could by hand, and bring AI into handoff so engineers get more than static design specs

Strong user and behavioural design experience. You've designed for environments where the buyer and user may have different incentives. You understand how to design for the person in the workflow while balancing what the buyer is paying for, and you're genuinely curious about why people behave the way they do.

AI product design experience. You've designed novel AI interactions and have a point of view on where AI product design is heading

Strong product ownership. You're comfortable owning outcomes, not just deliverables, and measure yourself by whether the work actually landed and created value

Comfort in ambiguity. You thrive in a fast-moving, light-process environment and are comfortable helping shape the process as we go rather than simply working within an established one

Strong craft and systems fluency. You create reusable patterns and components and care about raising the quality bar across a growing product surface

Clear reasoning and communication. You can explain the thinking behind a design decision, challenge assumptions constructively, and communicate your work clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice-to-HavesWe're looking for T-shaped designers: broad across the craft, with genuine depth in at least one area. You don't need to have all of these.

Frontend / code fluency. You can ship in code, not just prototype, and are comfortable working at the intersection of design and implementation as we invest further in agentic design-to-code workflows

Serious research or behavioural depth. You have specialised expertise in behavioural science, psychology, cognitive science, or rigorous qualitative and quantitative research methods
