[Remote] Exempt Organizations Tax Accountant / Senior Tax Accountant

They are currently seeking a talented Tax Accountant or Senior Tax Accountant to provide tax compliance and consulting services to a wide variety of exempt organizations, foundations, and other tax-exempt entities.

Responsibilities

Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for exempt organizations, including Forms 990, 990-T, and 990-PFAssist with tax consulting projects and planning tax engagementsResearch federal and state tax issues affecting exempt organizations, including tax-exempt hospitalsPrepare workpapers and supporting documentation in accordance with firm standardsCommunicate with clients to obtain information, answer questions, and resolve tax issuesRespond to IRS and state tax noticesManage multiple client engagements while meeting multiple deadlinesUtilize tax software and technology to improve efficiency and accuracyStay current on tax law developments affecting exempt organizationsManage day-to-day client communications appropriate to experienceCollaborate with an experienced team dedicated exclusively to exempt organization taxation
Skills

Bachelor's degree in Accounting1+ years of public accounting or related tax experienceStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work both independently and collaborativelyAbility to travel locally with occasional overnight travel (less than 5%)CPA license or active progress toward CPA licensure
