TENDEG LLC
Tendeg LLC is an engineering-driven company that designs and builds high-performance antenna systems and precision structures for space missions. Our work supports communications, sensing, and data delivery in demanding orbital environments, with applications ranging from weather forecasting and Earth science to global connectivity, national security, and scientific exploration.
Our hardware is flight-proven, with more than 25 antennas currently on orbit and a portfolio of deployable apertures that spans multiple sizes and frequency regimes. As we scale manufacturing to meet growing demand, we’re building a team focused on disciplined execution, technical rigor, and delivering hardware that works. If you’re interested in joining a growing team that designs and builds the infrastructure behind modern space missions, we’d like to hear from you.
Tendeg’s Philosophy:
We encourage innovation and entrepreneurial energy. We are successful because we take a unique approach to solving problems. We look for creative thinkers and self-motivated people that can collaborate within our open team environment. TENDEG is an acronym for TENacious Design and Engineering Group. Obviously, tenacity is another trait we embrace.
About the role:
Tendeg is scaling its manufacturing capacity to meet growing National Security Space and commercial demand, moving from low-rate bespoke production toward a high-volume, repeatable production cadence. The Supply Chain Manager will build and lead the supply chain function that makes this transition possible - owning procurement strategy, supplier relationships, inventory planning, and materials availability for long-lead items such as electronics, motors, carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP), and custom machined parts. This role reports into Operations leadership, manages Tendeg's buyers, and is directly accountable for protecting program schedule through reliable, cost-effective sourcing.
What you'll be doing:
Own end-to-end supply chain strategy, including supplier selection, qualification, and performance management across mechanical, electrical, and composite commodities.
Lead and develop Tendeg's buyer team, setting priorities, reviewing purchase decisions, and building the processes needed to scale from low-rate to 10–20 antennas per month.
Build and manage inventory strategy for long-lead materials (electronics, motors, CFRP, custom machined parts) to reduce schedule risk and improve program award competitiveness.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery commitments with suppliers; manage contracts and long-term supply agreements to support cost and schedule targets.
Partner with Engineering and Program Management to align sourcing decisions with design-for-manufacturing initiatives and new product introduction schedules.
Develop and monitor key supply chain metrics - on-time delivery, lead time, cost, and supplier quality - and drive corrective action when performance slips.
Ensure procurement practices comply with AS9100 quality requirements, ITAR/EAR export control regulations, and applicable government flow-down requirements.
Identify and qualify alternate sources of supply to reduce single-source risk and support Tendeg's trusted-domestic-supplier position.
Support S&OP and production planning processes as Tendeg transitions to industrial-cadence manufacturing.
Collaborate with Finance on working capital planning, including inventory investment in long
lead items.
What you'll need:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
7+ years of progressive supply chain, procurement, or materials management experience, including 2+ years in a leadership or people-management role.
Experience in aerospace, defense, or another regulated, precision manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated experience sourcing composites, electro-mechanical components, or electronics in a low-volume-to-high-volume manufacturing transition.
Working knowledge of AS9100 quality systems and ITAR/EAR export control requirements.
Strong negotiation, supplier management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems for purchasing, inventory, and demand planning.
U.S. Person status required due to export-controlled data and ITAR/EAR compliance.
Nice-to-have's
Experience supporting both low-volume, high-mix and high-volume, low-mix production environments.
Familiarity with satellite, spacecraft, or antenna hardware programs.
APICS/ASCM (CPSM, CPIM, or CSCP) certification.
Experience with design-for-manufacturing and lean/continuous-improvement initiatives.
