UX UI Designer, Sr. - Remote Role

About the Role
We are seeking a Senior UI/UX Designer to support complex and strategic digital projects in a demanding enterprise environment. This role combines hands-on UI/UX design with design leadership, client communication, design-system development, and mentorship of other UI designers.
The successful candidate will be able to understand both user and business needs, translate complex subject matter into clear visual experiences, and work independently with limited oversight. This position is initially structured as a 1099 contract with potential conversion and is intended to be a long-term engagement.

Key Responsibilities
Mentor other UI designers and provide constructive feedback on design work.Establish and maintain visual direction for design rollouts.Develop and maintain design systems and style guides.Advocate for user-centered design with clients and stakeholders.Contribute to the strategic vision for the user experience.Lead design reviews and provide clear, constructive feedback.Work on complex and strategic projects, including project planning and scoping.Use advanced Figma capabilities to create and manage design solutions.Communicate with clients to address issues, clarify requirements, and resolve questions.Present design concepts and rationale to clients and stakeholders.Follow Curio's Figma Etiquette for all design files.Create user-centered designs based on business requirements, user needs, and user feedback.Produce user flows, wireframes, prototypes, user interface mockups, and developer specifications.Conduct user research and evaluate user feedback.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs are feasible and aligned with project goals and deadlines.Explain and communicate the design methodologies used in UI design.Apply directed feedback from clients and senior team members.Create Figma components and integrate them into existing design systems.Ensure designs meet accessibility and usability standards.Apply industry best practices to design solutions.Maintain design consistency across digital platforms.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Advanced proficiency in Figma.Strong understanding of Apple Human Interface Guidelines (HIG).Knowledge of Google Material Design.Strong understanding of web design best practices.Knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards.Strong design presentation and client communication skills.Experience creating Figma components and working within established design systems.Experience developing user flows, wireframes, prototypes, UI mockups, and developer specifications.Understanding of user-centered design principles, user research, and usability testing.Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.Self-motivated and proactive approach to work.Ability to question requirements, understand the underlying problem, and make informed design decisions.Ability to receive direction and independently determine how to execute it.Ability to work independently without constant guidance or oversight.Strong communication skills and confidence presenting and defending design decisions.Collaborative and receptive to feedback.Ability to consistently deliver high-quality work in a demanding, high-performing enterprise environment.

Work Arrangement & Contract
Location: Fully remote.Work hours: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM EST.Employment type: 1099 contract initially.Long-term contract with potential conversion.The position requires working within EST time-zone hours.
