Lead UX/UI Designer (Government Digital Products experience)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Lead UX Designer with 7+ years of UI/UX design experience within product teams, including at least 2 years in a leadership role to join our client product team in creating user-centred digital solutions that serve Singapore's citizens and businesses. Experience working on government or public sector digital products.

In this role, you will work on designing intuitive, accessible, and impactful digital products that improve the lives of Singaporeans whilst adhering to government design standards and accessibility requirements. You will be part of cross-functional product teams working in an agile environment to deliver citizen-centric solutions

1 year contract under agency payroll

Salary: up to $10800

Key Responsibilities

Lead and mentor the design team, providing guidance and reviewing work to ensure high-quality design outcomes.Establish the design system and enforce design standards to deliver a consistent and scalable user experience.Design and prototype user interfaces for digital products serving citizens and government agencies across the product lifecycleConduct user research, usability testing, and stakeholder interviews to inform product decisions and validate product-market fitCollaborate with product managers, product owners, developers, and government agencies to translate product requirements into simple, elegant user experiencesCreate wireframes, high-fidelity mockups and interactive prototypes using industry standard design tools to support product development sprintsEnsure designs comply with government accessibility standards and design system guidelines whilst meeting product OKRsParticipate in product reviews, sprint planning, and retrospectives to iterate based on user feedback and product metricsContribute to the development and maintenance of design systems and pattern libraries that scale across multiple productsSupport product discovery activities and help define product roadmaps through design thinking methodologiesWhat we're looking for

7+ years of experience in UI/UX design within product teams, with at least 2 years in a lead role. Experience working on government or public sector digital products.Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and prototyping tools used in product developmentStrong understanding of user-centred design principles, product design processes, accessibility standards, and responsive designExperience with user research methodologies, A/B testing, and product analytics to inform design decisionsKnowledge of HTML/CSS and understanding of technical constraints in product developmentExperience working in agile/scrum environments with product managers and development teamsExcellent communication skills and ability to present design concepts to product stakeholders and leadershipExperience with product management tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar platformsFamiliarity with government digital products and public sector product challengesUnderstanding of data visualisation, product analytics, and information architecture principlesExperience with design systems and component libraries in product environmentsKnowledge of product discovery techniquesLocals (Must be willing to wait for project clearance & pre-employment check to complete before reporting work)Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Product Design, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
