The Role – Mechanical Contracts Manager

As Mechanical Contracts Manager, you will take ownership of a portfolio of mechanical building services projects from pre construction handover through to final completion and defects resolution.

You will oversee project delivery teams across multiple sites, ensuring programmes are achieved, commercial performance is protected and all mechanical installations are delivered safely and to the highest standard. This is a senior leadership role requiring strong operational, contractual and client management experience within the M&E construction sector.

The successful Mechanical Contracts Manager will play a key role in driving project performance, supporting Project Managers and ensuring successful delivery of complex mechanical packages across fast paced construction environments.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage multiple mechanical building services projects simultaneouslyCoordinate Project Managers, site teams and specialist subcontractorsEnsure projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budgetManage client relationships and chair progress meetings with stakeholdersOversee compliance with JCT and NEC contract requirementsMonitor project costs, variations, extensions of time and commercial performanceConduct regular site safety inspections and ensure compliance with RAMS and CDM regulationsDrive quality assurance, commissioning and snagging processesDevelop recovery plans for projects at risk of delay or overspendProvide detailed operational and financial reporting to senior leadershipSupport pre construction handovers and contract launch meetingsCapture lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement across the businessAbout You7+ years’ experience in Mechanical Project Management or Contracts ManagementStrong background within the M&E or building services construction sectorExperience delivering mechanical packages on large scale construction projectsExcellent understanding of mechanical systems, installation sequencing and project deliveryProven knowledge of JCT and NEC contractsStrong commercial awareness with experience managing CVRs and project profitabilityExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to lead site teams across multiple live projectsSMSTS and Black CSCS Card essentialNEBOSH qualification highly desirableDegree, HNC or HND in Building Services, Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management preferredWhat’s on Offer
