We're looking for an experienced, detail-oriented SEO & AI Search Specialist to partner with our team and help execute SEO services across multiple client accounts.

We're especially interested in someone who understands both traditional SEO and the rapidly evolving world of AI-powered search.

We'd love to work with someone in the Kansas City area, but we're open to remote contractors who are an excellent fit.

What You'll Do:

You'll be responsible for hands-on SEO execution across our client engagements, with work varying based on each client's needs and service level.

Technical & On-Page SEO

Conduct comprehensive website audits and implement SEO improvements.
Perform keyword research, keyword mapping, and competitive analysis.
Optimize title tags, meta descriptions, headers, images, internal links, and page content.
Identify and resolve technical SEO issues related to indexing, crawlability, site speed, mobile usability, and website architecture.
Implement schema markup and structured data.
Monitor and improve Core Web Vitals and technical website health.

AI Search Optimization (AEO & GEO)

Research and implement strategies to improve visibility in AI-powered search experiences, including ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, and Perplexity.
Optimize content for answer engines, AI discovery, and emerging search experiences.
Identify opportunities to improve topical authority, brand visibility, and credible citations.
Monitor developments in AI search and recommend practical improvements.
Use AI tools to improve SEO workflows while maintaining high-quality, accurate work.

Content & Keyword Strategy

Develop SEO-focused content recommendations and briefs.
Identify content gaps and opportunities for organic growth.
Optimize existing blogs, landing pages, and website content.
Collaborate with our team on content creation and optimization.
Help create content that answers real customer questions and drives qualified traffic.

Local SEO & Link Building

Optimize Google Business Profiles and local search visibility.
Manage local SEO improvements and business citations.
Execute ethical link-building and digital outreach strategies.
Identify relevant opportunities to improve website authority.

Analytics & Reporting

Monitor performance using Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, and SEO research tools.
Prepare monthly reports with meaningful insights and actionable recommendations.
Track keyword rankings, organic visibility, traffic, and conversions.
Identify opportunities to improve client performance over time.

Agency Collaboration

Complete assigned SEO deliverables accurately and on schedule.
Manage multiple client accounts and priorities.
Communicate progress, blockers, and recommendations proactively.
Document completed work and maintain organized project records.
Help improve our SEO processes and workflows as our agency grows.

What We're Looking For:

Required

3+ years of professional, hands-on SEO experience.
Experience executing SEO work for multiple businesses or agency clients.
Strong technical, on-page, off-page, and local SEO skills.
Experience with Google Search Console, GA4, and SEO platforms such as Semrush, Ahrefs, or Screaming Frog.
Comfortable working directly in website content management systems.
Ability to implement recommendations, not simply produce audits.
Excellent organization, communication, and time management.
Ability to work independently and meet agreed-upon deadlines.
Strong interest in AI-powered search and emerging SEO practices.

Highly Preferred

Hands-on experience with AEO, GEO, and AI search visibility optimization.
Experience with WordPress and HubSpot CMS.
Knowledge of schema markup and structured data.
Experience creating SEO content briefs and optimizing landing pages.
Familiarity with SEO automation and AI-assisted workflows.
Experience supporting B2B or service-based businesses.
Based in or near Kansas City.
